Report: TERMINATOR Sequel Terminated From Studio Schedule

The sixth planned Terminator movie has been removed from Paramount Pictures' film slate, according to The Wrap. Tentatively titled Terminator 3 (despite 2003's Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines), the sequel was scheduled for release June 29, 2018.

The last Terminator film, Terminator: Genisys, was intended to be the first part of a new trilogy with Matt Smith's T-5000.

It was previously reported that the rights for the Terminator franchise will revert to series creator James Cameron in 2019, and that the writer/director has been in talks with Deadpool director Tim Miller to take over the franchise.

Paramount is scheduled to have a presentation about its upcoming movies on Tuesday evening at CinemaCon.
