Several more names have reportedly been floated to direct Warner Bros.'s planned Suicide Squad sequel. The podcast Meet The Movie Press reported that Jaume Collett-Sarra is the latest director to enter talks for the film, while also recapping a recent report that Ruben Fleischer, Daniel Espinosa, and Jonathan Levine had also each been considered.
The hosts described Collett-Sarra as a "homegrown" Warner Bros. filmmaker, having directed numerous films for the studio, including House of Wax, the Shallows, and Run All Night. The previous frontrunner was Mel Gibson, who confirmed he was in talks to direct the film, and may still be in consideration.
Suicide Squad director David Ayer has moved onto directing the reported Gotham City Sirens film. No projected release date for Suicide Squad 2 has been announced.
