With Kong: Skull Island hitting theaters this week, plans are ramping up for the film's sequel, Godzilla Vs. Kong, including hiring a slew of new writers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The so-called "writers room," an industry term for a group of writers working on a particular project, reportedly includes at least one name comic book fans are sure to recognize: J. Michael Straczynski, known for writing numerous sci-fi cartoons and TV shows, as well as for his extended comic book runs on Amazing Spider-Man, Thor, and Superman.
Straczynski's role in the room has not been reported, but what is known is that Godzilla Vs. Kong will be the culmination of several films, including Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the upcoming sequel to 2014's reboot.
Godzilla Vs. Kong has an announced theatrical release date of May 29, 2020. Kong: Skull Island is out in theaters now.
