Serinda Swan has been cast to play Medusa in ABC’s live-action Inhumans television series. As in comics, Medusa will be the wife of Black Bolt, and is described as “a fiercely resilient warrior who has the ability to move and control her hair the way most people use their hands and fingers.” Swan, who co-starred in both Graceland and Ballers will join Anson Mount and Iwan Rheon, who were previously cast as the brothers Black Bolt and Maximus, respectively.
“Serinda empowers Medusa’s regal glory and still maintains a relatability that synced perfectly with the character,” said Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb. “She is nothing short of wonderful.”
“Serinda Swan brings a regal elegance, as well as a sense of great inner strength and fierce determination to the role of Medusa,” added showrunner Scott Buck. “I couldn’t be happier to have her as our Queen of Attilan.”
Inhumans is scheduled to debut its two-part pilot September 4 in IMAX theaters, before seguing to ABC on September 24 for its eight-episode first season.
