Malaysian actor Raja Ilya has stated that she has signed on for a mystery role in an upcoming Marvel Studios film, according to Malaysia's top newspaper The Star. The actor made the claim during a press conference promoting an upcoming film, Soulmate Hinga Jannah.
“I can’t get any accurate shooting location for now. I’ve just been informed to fly to Hollywood by the end of the year for role selection and for which Marvel title (I would be involved in),” said Ilya. "The offer came from someone I know from Indonesia who has already acted in a few Marvel and Disney movies… Now I just have to get prepared for the moment of my life.”
Ilya went on to say that she'll be training with Indonesian actor/martial artist Yayan Ruhian, presumably for the Marvel Studios role.
Given the "end of the year" time table given by the actor, her presumed role won't be in the already filmed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, or Thor: Ragnarok, which have all completed filming. Black Panther is currently filming, and would presumably be done by the end of the year. However Avengers: Infinity War, which is being filmed consecutively with the untitled fourth Avengers film, is an option due to its scheduled filming through November 2017. Other films scheduled to shoot in late 2017 and into 2018 are Ant-Man & The Wasp, Captain Marvel, and the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.
