Writer Chris Hastings and artist Flaviano will join forces this summer to launch I Am Groot, a new series (described by Marvel as ongoing) starring the Guardians of the Galaxy's semi-verbal warrior tree, as announced at ComicsPRO (viaComicBook).
I Am Groot features a growing version of the arboreal hero - similar to Baby Groot, as seen in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - stranded on an unfamiliar and inhospitable planet far from his Guardians compatriates.
I Am Groot #1 will be on shelves in May.

When the Guardians of the Galaxy get caught in a wormhole, a smaller-than-normal Groot is separated billions of light-years away from the team. Seriously underdeveloped and with nobody who can understand him, Groot will need to make the journey to the center of this world and find the way back to his family!
