GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Movie Designs Show Very Different NOVA CORPS, Ragtag STAR-LORD

'Guardians of the Galaxy' concept art

Fans are just months away from the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but concept artist Andy Park is taking things back to the first Guardians film with a look at some unseen concepts he created for Star-Lord and the Nova Corps via his Instagram.

The Nova Corps look presented here is markedly different from the one eventually seen in Guardians of the Galaxy. Oddly, it resembles the Kree armor worn by Captain Mar-Vell in the Ultimate Universe rather than the traditional take on the Nova Corps.

Park's concept art for Star-Lord is fairly close to the character's final look, but with a more piecemeal approach to his gear. Other unused concept art for Guardians of the Galaxy has surfaced in the past, including other takes on the Nova Corps, and even some concepts that didn't make it to the film such as the Baddoon.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is due out in theaters May 5.
