The lead up to 2017's film awards season has been peppered with talk of superhero films possibly receiving nominations, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has kicked off that trend - though the award it's nominated for isn't exactly an honor.
Along with films like Zoolander 2, Gods of Egypt, and Dirty Grandpa, Batman v Superman has secured a "Worst Picture" nomination from the Gold Raspberry Awards - a.k.a. the Razzies. In addition to the longrunning satirical awards show's "top honor," Batman v Superman also landed nominations in 7 other categories, including "Worst Actor" for Ben Affleck, "Worst Supporting Actor" for Jesse Eisenberg (who is up against Jared Leto from Suicide Squad), "Worst Screen Combo" for Affleck and Henry Cavill, "Worst Director" for Zack Snyder, "Worst Screenplay," and "Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off, or Sequel."
Batman v Superman was largely derided by critics, though many fans embraced the film despite its poor reviews. Affleck and Cavill will reprise their roles as Batman and Superman for Justice League, due out in theaters November 17.
