Superhero film veteran James Marsden is being discussed as a candidate for Green Lantern Corps' Hal Jordan, according to We Got This Covered. Citing an undisclosed source "connected" to Warner Bros., the online Hollywood trade said that the 43-year-old actor has been talked about more at the studio following his role in HBO's Westworld.
This follows a recent report of other actors in consideration for the Jordan role: Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Armie Hammer, Joe McHale, and Tom Cruise.
Many of the actors on this reported shortlist have ties to previous superhero films, but Marsden would trump them all with three major comic book movie roles: Cyclops in four X-Men movies, Richard White in Superman Returns, and Harold Quince in 2 Guns.
Green Lantern Corps was announced with a July 24, 2020 release date, though some of DC's planned film dates seem to be in flux.
