The first collections from DC's line-wide "Rebirth" have become available on hoopla digital, a new digital service offered through participating libraries in a Netflix-style presentation. DC Universe: Rebirth Deluxe Edition, Green Arrow Vol. 1: The Death & Life of Oliver Queen, and Superman Vol. 1: Son of Superman are available now to read for free on their smartphones, tables, and computers for those with library cards from participating libraries. Additional "Rebirth" titles are forthcoming, according to hoopla digital.
“By teaming up with hoopla digital, we’re able to reach a broader fan base and introduce new readers to the DC Universe," said DC Entertainment's Senior VP of Sales & Trade Marketing John Cunningham. "Libraries and their patrons are an important audience, and it’s exciting to bring Justice League and Suicide Squad, and many more titles to hoopla digital."
hoopla digital has partnerships with over 1,300 North American public library systems including those in Los Angeles, Boston, St. Louis, and Toronto.
“We are thrilled to offer DC 'Rebirth' titles to our library customers and their patrons as these comics release in bookstores. DC has an arsenal of iconic characters with a loyal fan base, and now, even more audiences can discover and enjoy favorite DC Super Heroes,” said Jeff Jankowski, owner and founder of hoopla digital. “We know the value comics fans place on the experience, and, since adding comics to our catalog in 2015, we have worked tirelessly to create a premium digital service for them, second to none. The result has been expanded reach for publishers and increased access to celebrated titles for libraries and cardholders, a win-win for everyone!”
