Just over a month before its planned debut, Marvel's new Elektra ongoing is changing artists. Alec Morgan, who was originally solicited to draw February's #1, has been replaced by Juan Cabal, according to a notice sent to retailers from the publisher.

Morgan has already found other work at Marvel, however; drawing an unsolicited back-up story for Bullseye #1 with that character's co-creator Marv Wolfman.

When asked about the change, a company spokesperson said the shifting artists was about finding the best book for each artist.

“We’re big fans of Alec’s style, and we ultimately felt he was better suited for a different project," said Marvel's Sales & Communications Administrator Chris D'Lando. "For those looking for him, you can see some of his amazing artwork in February’s Bullseye #1 alongside legendary writer Marv Wolfman. And we’re very excited to bring Juan Cabal on to the Elektra series alongside Matt Owens.”

Cabal was already solicited as drawing March's Elektra #2, so the artist taking over Elektra #1 will allow more artistic continuity for the series.
