DC President/Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns sent out a series of tweets in the early hours of 2017 on Sunday morning, one of which inferred that the executive/writer would be writing more comic books in 2017 - and it would involve Watchmen's Doctor Manhattan. Take a look:

In 2016, Johns' DC Universe: Rebirth #1 wrote Dr. Manhattan and several other elements from Watchmen into mainstream DCU continuity, with the blue-skinned metahuman being revealed as the puppetmaster in a years-long storyline.
Johns gave no further details on his comic book work with Dr. Manhattan in 2017.
