DC is expanding January's Kamandi Challenge #1 from 40 to 96 pages, adding in some rarely-seen classic Kamandi stories from the late 1970s. As part of this, the publisher is upping the price of the issue from $4.99 to $7.99. Despite the additional material however, the first issue is moving from its original January 25 release date to January 18.
Kamandi Challenge #1 will now contain 1978's Kamandi #60 and Kamandi #61, which DC never officially released on its own due the title being part of a wide swatch of cancellations dubbed "The DC Implosion" by fans. The stories, written by Jack C. Harris with art by Dick Ayers and Danny Bulanadi. are being billed by DC as "never before published," though a portion of the issues were published in various DC collections such as Cancelled Comics Cavalcade #2, as well as Best of DC Blue Ribbon Digest #22, and the Jack Kirby's Sandman omnibus.
These two back-issue reprints will join the originally solicited back-matter, a reprint of Jack Kirby's Kamandi #1.
Here is the full solicitation for the issue, updated with DC's new information.
