A Green Lantern Corps member will be in 2017's Justice League film, according to The Wrap. The Hollywood trade says that an undisclosed Green Lantern will be in "a key sequence" of the film, but doesn't say any more.
This unconfirmed report goes against a previous statement by a top Warner Bros. executive that the famous ringslinger wouldn't appear until 2019 at the soonest.
“I guess I can say to the Green Lantern fans: if they can be patient with us, I think they’ll be really happy," said Warner Bros. Pictures' President Greg Silverman in March 2016. "For now, we felt that we were introducing enough characters that the best possible place we could put Green Lantern is some introduction in [the second Justice League film], or barring that, a movie after.”
Justice League is scheduled to open in theaters November 17, 2017, while its sequel is planned for June 14, 2019. The Green Lantern Corps is dated for June 19, 2020.
