Updated November 21, 2016: Another change of artist for January 4's Unworthy Thor #3 - a change even from what Marvel told retailers last week. The publisher tells Newsarama Monday morning that Coipel will now remain on the book, but Kim Jacincto will be joining him as illustrator. Marvel hasn't said how this change could affect future issues of the miniseries.
Marvel declined to comment on the reason for the artistic change, or why retailers were told R.B. Silva would be replacing him.
Original Story: Marvel’s Unworthy Thor is changing artists unexpectedly, with series artist Oliver Coipel no longer illustrating the planned third issue in January. Stated by Marvel in a newsletter sent out to retailer via Diamond Comics Distributor, , the absence is the second major change to the book; originally, the series was announced as an ongoing series but was later shortened to five issues.
No reason was given Marvel's change in artists, but the publisher's retailer newsletter states that Amazing Spider-Man fill-in artist R.B. Silva will now illustrate Unworthy Thor #3. Marvel hasn't said how this change could affect future issues of the miniseries.
Here is the original solicitation for Unworthy Thor #3, scheduled for release January 4.
