A paparazzi photo from the set of Thor: Ragnarok last month found titular star Chris Hemsworth filming a scene with Doctor Strange's address in his hands, leading many to presume the movie would touch upon the film franchise's next major star - but that may not necessarily be the case according to the director.
"Ohhh I don't know," Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi told Digital Spy. "I am not sure if... I don't know actually. I can't comment on it. It may have just been something for the fans."
Although Waititi saying he doesn't know what's in (or not in) the film he's directing for Marvel Studios, he could simply be playing coy. But on the other hand, Marvel Studios is known to bring in other directors to film mid-credits and post-credits scenes for its film.
When prodded further, Waititi said it the address could just be "a tease."
"Might be something like that," said Waititi. "Might be a little tease. Or maybe a tease just for people who wanted to zoom into that photo."
Coincidentally, Doctor Strange was first named in a similiar such verbal tease in Captain America: Winter Soldier.
Doctor Strange is scheduled to debut in North American theaters November 4.
