CW has reportedly cast a second actor in the role of the JSA's Obsidian. According to TVLine, Strange Empire actor Dan Payne has been cast as a younger version of the character, while the previously cast Lance Henriksen will play his older self.
Payne has had previous comic book and sci-fi roles in Star Trek Beyond, Human Target, and as Dollar Bill in Watchmen.
Legends of Tomorrow deals directly with time travel, so showcasing a character at multiple points in his timeline is not a stretch. This may also be a way to balance Obsidian's heroic and villainous personae.
Legends of Tomorrow season 2 premieres October 13 on CW.
