Fans anxiously awaiting their next voyage in the Star Trek universe will have to wait a little longer to see the new TV series Star Trek: Discovery. Originally scheduled to premiere in January on CBS before seguing to its streaming service, Star Trek: Discovery will now premiere in May, according to Deadline.
The shift in schedule was prompted by the production team, who Deadline reports are moving forward on schedule, but who requested a later release date from the network to allow more time for filming and post production. This would also coincident with May sweeps for the television network.
Star Trek: Discovery is currently in the casting phase of pre-production.
