Suicide Squad director David Ayer had a big night Monday with his upcoming film's New York premiere - so much that he's apologizing for some of his actions later. In a cellphone video recorded in the theater before the film began, the 48-year-old filmmaker is caught saying "F--- Marvel." Take a look:

Soon after the film ended however, Ayer tweeted out this apology:
Sorry about getting caught up in the moment and saying f*ck Marvel. Someone said it. I echoed. Not cool. Respect for my brother filmmakers.— David Ayer (@DavidAyerMovies) August 2, 2016
Suicide Squad opens in theaters August 5.
