Vampire Diaries alum Chris Wood has been cast as an unspecified "surprise DC Comics" character in the CW's Supergirl, according to TVLine. Wood will reportedly be a series-regular for the sophmore show as it settles into the CW.
While Wood is best known as playing a villain in CW's The Vampire Diaries, he also appeared in The Carrie Diaries, Containment, and Girls. He was recently cast in PBS' Mercy Street in a recurring role as well.
This reported casting is the latest in a string of reported additions to Supergirl, following Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Lynda Carter as the President of the United States, Ian Gomez as Snapper Car, and Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer.
Supergirl is scheduled to return with its second season on October 10, but is scheduled to have a major presence at this week's Comic-Con International: San Diego.
