The iconic metal band Slayer has partnered with Dark Horse on a new comic book series inspired by their latest album. Slayer: Repentless will be written by Metalocalypse's John Schnepp and drawn by Guiu Vilanova. Glenn Fabry and Eric Powell will provide overs.
“It’s definitely a lot of sensitive subjects that need to be explored and addressed. What’s the best way to explore those? With the chaos of metal," said Schnepp.
“I think of the songs I write as stories,” said Slayer guitarist Kerry King. “And if nothing else, they are certainly visual.”
The band will have several appearances at this week's Comic-Con International: San Diego, with visits to Dark Horse and Nuclear Blast America's booth, as well as a sold-out concert at the nearby House of Blues.
Slayer: Repentless is scheduled to debut in December.
