According to social media tracking agency ComScore's PreAct, Suicide Squad is topping the charts in terms of fan anticipation compared to other upcoming films such as Ghostbusters, Star Trek Beyond, and even Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
PreAct measures social media chatter to judge how anticipated films are based on how much they're discussed. Using that metric, Suicide Squad tops the charts, followed by Star Trek Beyond, Ghostbusters, Jason Bourne, Beauty & The Beast, and Rogue One, in descending order.
According to Deadline, who reported the numbers, internally Warner Bros. is tracking Suicide Squad somewhere in the range of Guardians of the Galaxy's 2014 $94.3 million opening weekend, which coincidentally opened on the first weekend of August like DC's upcoming film.
Despite being third in terms of anticipation, Ghostbustershas topped this week's advance ticket sales through Fandango ahead of its Friday debut.
Star Trek Beyond opens July 22, followed by Suicide Squad on August 5.
