Darth Vader's involvement in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been presumed for some time, but now the Dark Lord of the Sith's presence in the film has been officially confirmed - and he's bringing an old friend with him.
Not only will Vader be in the film, he'll be voiced by James Earl Jones, the actor who gave Vader his voice throughout the original Star Wars trilogy, and his brief appearance in Revenge of the Sith.
Though other actors have voiced Vader in various media since Jones's original performance, Jones recently returned to the role for the animated Star Wars: Rebels, where he is a regular character. Rogue One will mark Vader's first live-action appearance in the new Star Wars canon - albeit in a relatively small cameo.
“He will be in the movie sparingly,” Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy explained to Entertainment Weekly. “But at a key, strategic moment, he’s going to loom large.”
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters December 15.
