Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the cover story to this week's edition of Entertainment Weekly, and the reveal of the cover alone has several new pieces of information.
The cover text itself confirms the speculation that Darth Vader is indeed "back" in Rogue One, with further details promised when the actual issue is released.
In the article revealing this cover, the Hollywood trade also confirms that the Imperial walkers seen in this cover (and the trailer) are AT-ACTs, modified AT-ATs used for shipping combo and not combat. The starfighters seen in the cover image are identified as TIE Strikers.
EW also reveals that Mads Mikkelsen's unnamed character is "a scientist whose knowledge is sought by both sides." Mikkelsen revealed earlier this year that his character is the father of Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso.
Additionally, Rogue One director Gareth Edwards and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy are scheduled to take part in a panel July 15 during Star Wars Celebration, along with "some special guests."
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled to be released in theaters December 16.
