While viewers of Fox's Gotham got a brief look at a villainous Jim Gordon when Clayface masqueraded as Ben McKenzie's character, the actor now says that there is "an idea" floating around of the iconic Gotham cop going "to the dark side" himself in the new season beginning this fall.
"Well, I think we're just going to continue his evolution. We've shown a Gordon who's changed an awful lot from where we found him in the pilot of the show: a naive, rookie cop. He's transformed into this hardened, practitioner of real politik and the dark arts of Gotham power plays. He's going to get even better at that in season 3. And he may even tip over, briefly... There's an idea that he may tip over to the dark side for a little while."
Speaking of the dark side, when asked about what other DC characters they'd like to see in the new season of Gotham, two of McKenzie's co-stars both named villains.
"Yes, I'm dying to see the Mad Hatter. He's my favorite villain that's not on the show," DC All Access was told by David Mazouz, who plays a young Bruce Wayne in Gotham, pointing specifically to Batman: Haunted Knight by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale.
"Well, my absoluate dream to be at some point to meet Query and Echo," said Cory Michael Smith, who plays the Edward Nygma, a.k.a. the Riddler. "Not knowing who they are, but meeting them because, like, that would be awesome to have sidekicks one day and know who they are."

Neither DC nor Fox have confirmed if any of these characters will in fact appear on Gotham, but that show's third season is expected to begin airing this fall.
