Marvel Studios' upcoming Iron Fist series on Netflix has added Jessica Jones' lawyer Jeri Hogarth, as played by Carrie-Anne Moss. Hogarth will assist Finn Jones' Danny Rand as he reacclimates to life in New York City.
“Danny Rand lives in the highest stratosphere of New York’s business society and he’s going to need a ruthless lawyer to help him navigate this alien world,” said Iron Fist showrunner Scott Buck. “I’m very happy to have the opportunity to bring Carrie-Ann Moss as Jeri Hogarth into Marvel’s Iron Fist.”
This will be Moss' third appearance as Hogarth, after debuting in Jessica Jones then appearing in the second season finale of Daredevil.
“Carrie-Anne has fast become a fan-favorite part of our street level saga, and we share our viewers’ excitement in bringing her into ‘Marvel’s Iron Fist,’” said Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb. “As Marvel fans know, Hogarth in the comics plays a critical role in the life of Danny Rand so it seems only fitting that Carrie-Anne join in.”
In comic books, Hogarth is an attorney who works for Wendell Rand, the father of Danny Rand (a.k.a. Iron Fist). After the death of the elder Rand, Hogarth became the executor of the Rand estate and shadowed Danny Rand when he returned from K'un L'un. Coincidentally, Hogarth is the one who put Rand in contact with Colleen Wing and Misty Knight. The character eventually became the attorney for Heroes for Hire with Rand and Luke Cage.
