20th Century Fox has already confirmed a sequel to this year’s Deadpool, but co-star T.J. Miller, who played Weasel, says there probably will be even more – perhaps even a spin-off for him, complete with “super suit.”
“Deadpool is not going anywhere anytime soon. I think there’s probably going to be three more installments, a Weasel spin off,” Miller told CinemaBlend. “I’m contractually obliged to do the cameos in other X-Men universe stuff, so there’s plenty more Deadpool to come.”
“I’m excited about the prospect of a Weasel spin-off," Miller adds, "because he makes this super suit, that’s not great and it’s a superhero in Las Vegas protects casinos. I mean, it just, everything about it is perfect for me… What if the Iron Man suit was sort of budget, like he can’t fly, but he can hover three or four feet.”
Although Miller’s comments about a Weasel standalone movie could be and likely are facetious, in Marvel comic books the character does indeed become a superhero for a time named ‘The House’ which the actor seems aware of.
In the immediate future, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are developing a screenplay for the as-yet-unscheduled Deadpool 2.
