This week, Marvel unveiled the title of its joint Spider-Man reboot with Sony - Spider-Man: Homecoming. At the same panel, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland also presented a clip revealing the first meeting between Spider-Man and Tony Stark, whose side he comes down on in Captain America: Civil War.
According to International Business Times, the clip showed Peter Parker coming home to his Queens aparment to find Tony Stark talking to his Aunt May (played by Marisa Tomei). Stark explains that he and Peter have been corresponding via e-mail, and that Peter has won a grant. Peter asks if there's money involved, and Tony says "Now, we're in business."
On the Civil War red carpet Tuesday evening however, Holland himself is identified by the official Captain America Twitter account (and retweeted by Marvel's) as Team Cap.
Tom appeared earlier at the Civil War red carpet posing, once again, with Captain America's shield, as seen in the latest trailer.
Could it be a portent for a double-cross in Civil War, with a double-cross as Spider-Man did in the Civil War comic book? Or perhaps just the actor having fun and possibly having different opinions than his character? Most likely, the latter.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6.
