Marvel Studios' Jessica Jones series at Netflix has hired Raelle Tucker, the showrunner of A&E's The Returned, as an executive producer, according to Deadline. Tucker takes the spot of Liz Friedman, who left the Netflix series to work on a pilot for ABC, Conviction.
“We’ve had such an incredible response to our first season, on which I’ve been so fortunate to have an extraordinary team all the way down the line from the fellow writers, executive producers, cast and crew,” said Jessica Jones showrunner/series creator Melissa Rosenberg. “I’m thrilled to have someone as talented as Raelle join our team as writer and executive producer as we delve into Jessica’s continued story.”
In addition to acting as showrunner on Carlton Cuse's The Returned for A&E, Tucker also was a writer/producer on True Blood and Supernatural.
Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb praised Tucker's "awesome skills as a writer and executive producer," saying the upcoming second season "will rock."
Jessica Jones is currently in pre-production on it's second season, but no debut date has been announced.
