The divide between fans and critics over Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is somewhat obvious; less obvious, however, is the disconnect between different groups of fans. Now, two seemingly opposing groups - one who have embraced director Zack Snyder's vision, and one who outright reject it - have created a pair of warring petitions related to his future with the DC Cinematic Universe.
The first aims to acheive a theatrical release for Snyder's vaunted R-Rated cut of Batman v Superman. There's no information or case made for why the director's cut should be released in theaters, but it has reached 2,293 signatures of its goal of 2,500. Coincidentally, the petition was started by a Change.org user named "Bruce Wayne."
Meanwhile, another petition has been launched to remove Snyder as the director of Justice League. This one makes its case more clearly, stating "Zack Snyder is not the person to bring the Justice League to the big screen. He's had two chances now to adapt DC characters and has produced middling results."
It goes on to plead with even those who were fans of Batman v Superman to sign the petition, if only to find a new director who is less divisive. This petition has garnered 10,856 signatures towards its goal of 15,000.
