Former WWE wrestler Eve Torres Gracie has been cast to play Maxima in an upcoming episode of CBS's Supergirl. According to CBS, Torres Gracie will debut in April 11's "Myriad" episode. The episode synopsis doesn't disclose how Maxima will factor into the series, instead focusing on Melissa Benoist's Supergirl and her continued battles against Non and Indigo.

"Kara must find a way to free her friends when Non (Chris Vance) and Indigo (Laura Vandervoort) use mind control to turn National City’s citizens into their own army," reads the description.

Maxima was created in 1989's Action Comics #645 by Roger Stern and George Perez. A princess from the planet Almerac, she ventures to Earth to find a mate in Superman. After being rebuffed by the Man of Steel on several occasions, Maxima turns angry and attacks him. With the advent of the "New 52" however, Maxima was reintroduced in a similiar storyline, however with Supergirl in her sights as a potential mate.

Eve Torres Gracie retired from WWE in late 2012, seguing to a career as a self-defense instructor and actress. Torres Gracie appeared in The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power and the short-lived El Rey series Matador.
