Olivia Munn is debuting as Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse, and the actress already has hopes and plans for a solo film -- and more than enough ideas on how to do it.
“I think if Psylocke had a chance to tell her story, it would be great to start with the genesis and have an understanding,” Munn told Collider. “I think maybe like right as she’s getting out of university and before her whole family—we jump in right before all of her family is taken out and we have an understanding of what she had to lose. Then her figuring out her powers and how powerful she is. I think that would be a great thing to, because it’s something that I always loved about her. That she came from a good family and lost everything. Yeah, I would just like to tell that story.”
Munn doesn't mention it specifically, but her family in comic books include her twin brother Brian Braddock (Captain Britain) and the often-times nefarious other brother, Jamie.
Psylocke getting a solo film wouldn't be unprecedented - both Wolverine and Deadpool have received their own solo films. And though those characters are major heroes in their own right, Gambit will also headline in his own film starring Channing Tatum.
Olivia Munn also has plenty of experience as a TV host as well, having worked on Attack of the Show for numerous seasons, and she's segueing that experience into manning the X-Men Films' Snapchat account to promote the film leading up to the Super Bowl. Check it out:
