XBox One and PlayStation 4 may seem neck-and-neck in the video game aisle, but some numbers released by Electronic Arts show a far different picture that Microsoft has long avoided mentioning. In a financial call with journalists (via Boing Boing), Electronic Arts CEO Blake Jorgensen revealed that the combined sales of Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles were roughly 55 million units.
Back in January, CNBC quoted Sony as having sold 35.9 million PlayStation 4 consoles, so using a bit of math that would make Xbox One sales at 19.1 million. While at one time Microsoft was very public about its console sales, the last time it released official figures was November 2013 with 10 million reported.
For it's part, Nintendo's Wii U has reportedly sold 10.73 million units as of the company's September 30 financial report.
