The Office alum John Krasinski barely missed a chance to play Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, losing the role to Chris Evans. But according to a recent interview, Krasinski is hoping he still has a chance to join the MCU - as a villain, and against Evans' Cap.

"I'll take a Marvel movie, any time! I love watching them so I'd love to be a part of it," Krasinski told Digital Spy. "Chris is a good friend and very good at what he does, so I was so happy to see him do it. Maybe now I need to play a villain and fight Chris. That's what we need to do."

Perhaps a role as John Walker, the bloodthirsty replacement Captain America with whom Steve Rogers clashed, is in Krasinski's future? Just a thought.

Krasinski recently made headlines for undergoing a full body transformation, bulking up for his role as a soldier in 13 Hours. Interestingly, Krasinksi isn't the only MCU near miss in his family - his wife Emily Blunt was the original choice to play Black Widow in Iron Man 2 before scheduling conflicts lead her to give up the role to Scarlett Johansson.
