Actor Delroy Lindo has been cast to play Dominic Fortune in ABC's upcoming series Marvel's Most Wanted, according to Deadline. The series is planned as a spin-off of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood (playing Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter, respectively) as the leads.
Based on his creator-owned character the Scorpion, Howard Chaykin's Dominic Fortune debuted in Marvel Preview #2 in 1975. Fortune, whose real name is Duvid "David" Fortunov, recently appeared in the S.H.I.E.L.D. comic book series, as well as 2010's Hawkeye & Mockingbird.
British actor Delroy Lindo is perhaps best known for his role as West Indian Archie in Malcolm X, and also appeared in Point Break, Gone In 60 Seconds, and the recent TV series Blood & Oil. Lindo has frequently been cast by Spike Lee; in addition to Malcolm X, the theatre-trained actor has played in both Crooklyn and Clockers. Lindo is scheduled to portray Marcus Garvey in an upcoming biopic.
ABC is currently developing Marvel's Most Wanted as a pilot, with hopes to have the series debut this fall.
