The recently rejuvenated Alternative Comics has hired Revival Press founder David Nuss as the company’s Associate Publisher. Nuss will act as the co-head of the company’s production team, and be working on business development, sales forecasting, and working with distributors and retailers. Nuss will work from the company’s recently opened New York City office.
San Diego-based IDW Publishing has hired industry vet Steven Scott as P.R. Manager. Scott previously served as a P.R. director and manager for Humble Bundle and Archie Comics. Scott takes over the IDW position from Rosalind Morehead, who was promoted to become the company’s Director of Book Market Sales.‘
“2015 was a HUGE year for IDW, with our continued expansion into Games and Entertainment, the opening of the San Diego Comic Art Gallery, not to mention our always aggressive and diverse publishing slate,” said IDW’s VP of Marketing Dirk Wood. “We’re thrilled to have Steven Scott on the team. His experience is critical at this juncture, because 2016 will be even bigger.”
Up the coast at Dark Horse Comics in Milwaukee, Oregon, Sarah Robertson has been promoted to become the company’s Director of Sales. Robertson has been with the company since 2008, and moonlights as a voiceover actress in video games such as Dragon Age: Inquisition and Tacoma.
“Sarah has been an energetic, intelligent, and inspirational leader of the sales team,” said Dark Horse’s executive vice president, Neil Hankerson. “We are pleased that she accepted her new position as director of sales.”
