Although Gene Roddenberry passed away twenty five years ago, he left a lasting legacy with Star Trek -- and as it turns out, he left something else as well.
The Wrap reports that Roddenberry's family has discovered nearly 200 5.25" floppy disks with unseen notes from the late TV writer/producer. Finding a floppy disk drive was easy -- but finding the now obsolete software which made it (and can open it) was harder. But they did it, but are keeping what they found secret -- for now.
“[We discovered] lots of documents,” said Mike Cobb, Drivesavers' director of engineering. “2016 just happens to be the 50th anniversary of the original ‘Star Trek,’ anything could happen, the world will have to wait and see.”
No timetable was given for when more details about this intriguiing find would be revealed.
