Now that the first screenings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens have taken place, many viewers have noticed some interesting things in the film's credits - including the identity of the man behind BB-8's voice. As it turns out, BB-8's "Vocal Consultant" was none other than Saturday Night Live alum Bill Hader.
"JJ f***ing around with this sound effects app on his iPad that was attached to a talk box operated by me," Hader told HitFix. "It looked ridiculous but it made BB-8's voice. At first I tried doing a voice, but we all agreed it sounded too human."
According to his Facebook page, actor Ben Schwartz, best known as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on Parks & Recreation, also provided voice work for BB-8.
