King Features Syndicate celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, and is highlighting the occassion with a special Sunday supplement in newspapers nationwide on November 15. In an interview with The New York Times, comics editor Brendan Burford said that the intent is to highlight the "amazing impact on a century of pop culture" King and its associated comic strips have had.
Owned by the Hearst Corporation, King Features Syndicate currently has 65 syndicate comic strips published in over 2800 newspapers worldwide. It's strips include Beetle Bailey, Dennis the Menace, Flash Gordon, Mutts and Zits, as well as the long-running Amazing Spider-Man and Donald Duck strips.
The 100th Anniversary special newspaper section will appear in newpapers on November 15.
