Believe it or not, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are walking on air, as the pair are set to reboot the cult classic superhero sitcom Greatest American Hero for Fox.
According to Deadline, Fox has committed to create a pilot for a new version of the show produced by Lord and Miller, and written and directed by Dope director Rick Famuyiwa. This is the second try at rebooting Greatest American Hero for Lord and Miller, who had a deal in 2014 with Fox for a reboot -- with a different writer -- that proved fruitless
Lord and Miller previously revived another series by original Greatest American Hero creator Steven J. Cannell with their 21 Jump Street films.
The report describes Lord, Miller, and Famuyiwa's Greatest American Hero as a single camera sitcom which tells "the story of what happens when great power is not met with great responsibility. An ordinary man, completely content with being average, wakes up with a superpower suit he never asked for and has to deal with the complications it brings his life."
No further details regarding the pilot have been announced.
