The Tracking Board reports that the previously announced Justice League Dark big-screen adaptation known as Dark Universe is back on track. Although Guillermo Del Toro has stepped away from the director's chair, Warner Bros. has reportedly tasked veteran producer Scott Rudin (Steve Jobs, Addams Family) to oversee the project with the intent to begin filming in 2016. Rudin is said to be tweaking Del Toro's original script for the film, and is actively courting directors.
John Constantine is still pencilled in to be the leader of the team according to the website, despite the character appearing in a recent television series and coming up in Arrow.
With a reported shooting schedule in 2016, a Dark Universe film could debut as soon as late 2016 or early 2017.
