Note: Spoilers ahead for Batman & Robin Eternal #1.

Just hours before the release of Batman & Robin Eternal #1 Wednesday, the cover to the weekly series' third issue leaked on Reddit -- showing that former Batgirl Cassandra Cain would be returning to DC in a big way in the series.

Created by Kelley Puckett and Damion Scott, Cain was at one-time Batgirl but later took on the identity of Black Bat prior to the "New 52" relaunch. Since the 2011 line-wide reboot, Cassandra had not appeared in modern stories -- however she was featured as a member of the League of Batgirls in a future timeline in The New 52: Futures End.

Back in July, Batman & Robin Eternal co-writer James Tynion IV revealed that Cain would be a major part of this weekly series, so this leaked cover -- and the events in Wednesday's debut issue -- put a face to that.

Look for more on this week's Batman & Robin Eternal #1 later today on Newsarama.
