DC has announced a new series to begin in January titled Suicide Squad Most Wanted: Deadshot/Katana. The double-sized six-issue anthology series will feature a regular comic book length story for both Deadshot and Katana. This new miniseries debuts just months before the Suicide Squad movie opens in August,  featuring both Katana and Deadshot as main characters.

In her story, Katana attempts to prevent Kobra from taking over an entire nation. But in addition to saving an entire country on her own, she'll be drawn into the untold origin of his trademark sword, Soultaker. This series is written by the character's original co-creator, Mike W. Barr, along with artist Diogenes Neves.

Detective Comics writer Brian Bucellato and artist Viktor Bogdanovic are working on the Deadshot serial, and follows the character after he breaks out of Belle Reve Penitentiary. A free man once again, Floyd Lawton begins getting back to work as a high-dollar hitman, and faces his biggest assignment yet: killing Lex Luthor.

Suicide Squad Most Wanted: Deadshot/Katana is scheduled to debut January 2016.
