Hugh Jackman's time as Wolverine is coming to an end sooner rather than later. With only one more film appearance set in stone, Jackman will be vacating the role after 2017's The Wolverine sequel. But the chances of 20th Century Fox being done with Wolverine the same time Jackman's done with him are slim to none, which means they're going to need a new actor to take his place. Fortunately, Jackman himself has a suggestion for his replacement.
“I’ve been asked the question a lot,” Jackman told MTV International. “And I’m always like ‘I don’t want to make it too easy on the studio to replace me.’ I’ve still got one more to do. I’m sure they’re already talking about it. I’m sure there’s already some actor out there who they’ve already said, ‘Shh, keep it quiet, but we want you next.’”
Though he played coy, Jackman did offer his pick, a veteran of other comic book and sci-fi movies.
“He’s younger than me for sure – I think Tom Hardy would be great.” Check out the clip of the interview right here:
