Speaking to The Wrap at the Toronto International Film Festival, Sherlock Holmes actress Rachel McAdams confirmed that she will star opposite Benedict Cumberbatch as the female lead in next year's Doctor Strange.
While McAdams has been rumored for a role in the film for some time, this is the first that any party has confirmed the casting. McAdams did not reveal whether she would portray Doctor Strange's longtime paramour Clea or any other specific role.
Marvel has not yet responded to McAdams's comments.
Doctor Strange is set for a November 4, 2016 release.
