Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, James Bond actor Daniel Craig vociferously denied (maybe a little too much?) rumors started by actor Simon Pegg that he would portray a Stormtrooper in the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

“Why would I ever bother doing something like that?” said Craig. “F—ing hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie?”

The rumor began when Pegg told the London Sun that he and Craig both had cameos in The Force Awakens, with Craig playing a Stormtrooper, and gained traction because The Force Awakens and Spectre, the latest film in the Bond series, were filming in the same London studio.

But Craig is very adamant the rumors are false, saying “Talk to Simon Pegg. He obviously knows way more than I do. He’s just jealous because he’s not in Star Wars. He’s got some issue with J.J. [Abrams, The Force Awakens director]. I don’t know what the f— it is. You need to talk to Simon about it.”

However, behind the scenes footage shown at Comic-Con International: San Diego revealed that Simon Pegg does indeed have a small cameo in The Force Awakens, and given Craig's somewhat over-the-top and questionably appropriate denial, we're not ready to close the book on this on yet.
