CBS's Supergirl is making its Comic-Con International: San Diego debut this week, but the network and some of its producers are revealing new details early. In an Entertainment Weekly interview, executive producer Ali Adler nails down just how often Superman, who was teased in the debut trailer, will appear in the series itself.
“Our prototype is the way the president is seen on Veep,” Adler explained. In that HBO series, the U.S President is referred to and sometimes heard but never seen squarely on-screen. “It’s certainly [inspired by] so much of what Julia-Louis Dreyfus’ character goes through. Ultimately, this is a show about Supergirl and we really want to see it through her lens.”
