Dynamite Entertainment has announced that Warren Ellis will be writing a new James Bond 007 ongoing series. Set to launch in November, the James Bond 007 is the first new comic book series based on Ian Fleming's signature spy in over two decades. Ellis will be joined on the series by artist Jason Marsters.
"Ian Fleming's James Bond is an icon, and it's a delight to tell visual narratives with the original, brutal, damaged Bond of the books," said Warren Ellis.
According to Dynamite, Ellis' first arc follows Bond after he returns to London from a mission in Helsinki to take over the missions of a fallen fellow 00 agent.
"We were thrilled when Warren agreed to write the first story in this exciting new chapter of literary James Bond," said Diggory Layock, great-nephew of Ian Fleming and part of Ian Fleming Publications, Ltd., which licensed Dynamite for the series. "Warren's style is gritty, dark and unique and we can't wait to see James Bond embroiled in an adventure of his creation."
