Green Goblin no more.
That's apparently what Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are thinking in terms of antagonists for 2017's Spider-Man film. In an interview with BirthMoviesDeath promoting the upcoming Ant-Man movie, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked about the Tom Holland-fronted film and revealed that the wall-crawler won't have to worry about any of his past cinematic adversaries for a while.
"Right now we're interested in seeing villains we haven't seen before," Feige says, calling the depth and breadth of Spider-Man's rogue's gallery an "advantage."
In the previous five films, fans have seen the Green Goblin (three different iterations), Doctor Octopus, Venom, the Sandman, the Lizard, Electro and Rhino.
Spider-Man is expected to hit theaters July 28, 2017.
