At a recent CW red carpet event, Arrow star Stephen Amell talked about the show's future, with three seemingly ominous words.
"Arrow is done," Amell told E Online.
"No more Arrow suit. I've worn it for the last time," he added.
While this sounds like major changes are ahead for Arrow, with the show renewed for a fourth season it seems less likely Oliver will be joining the Peace Corps and more likely that he'll be receiving a new costume and perhaps even a new, 'longer name' in the wake of the season 3 finale.
Meanwhile, Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim spoke to i09 about the fourth season, saying, "It will take a lighter tone. That's pretty much the only thing I can say without spoiling it."
Guggenheim went on to elaborate anyway, saying "The show’s still going to be the show but in terms of tone we’re coming off a very very hard season for all of our characters. We wanted to try to mix it up a little bit."
With all these teases in mind, it sounds like Arrow could move in a more classic "Green Arrow" style direction, possibly inspired by Arrow's lighter (and higher-rated) counterpart The Flash.
